Understanding requests
Learn how audience requests work and how to moderate them during a show.
How requests are submitted
Attendees don’t need an account. They open your public event link, search for a song, and submit a request. If the event is private, guests enter the event password you shared with them. Requests appear in your DJ Admin so you can review them in real time.
Request status for attendees
On the event page, attendees see their requests in Pending, Approved, and Rejected sections. As you review requests during the show, each request’s status updates. Attendees can refresh the page to see the latest.
Moderation during a show
Keep app.playthis.live/dj-admin/requests open during your set. Use Live View for a focused screen, approve or reject requests, and filter by status or event. You can manually refresh if needed. The list lets you stay on top of the queue without leaving the page.
Tip Jar
When enabled, the Tip Jar appears to attendees after every X song requests (you choose the threshold). It links guests to your Venmo and/or Cash App so they can tip you directly—no attendee account or card processing on our side.
To preview what attendees see, go to DJ Admin → Settings → Tip Jar and click “Test Tip Jar.” You’ll see the same modal that appears once your threshold is reached during a show.
