πŸŽ›οΈ Take & manage song requests

Moderate from the Booth, Live View, Request Board, and after the event.

πŸŽ›οΈ Take & manage song requests

How the Booth works in PlayThis.Live. Keep DJ Admin β†’ Requests open during the set so you can approve, reject, and (on Pro) mark Already played.

What happens after a guest submits

  1. The request appears in the Booth as Pending.
  2. You approve, reject, or (Pro) mark Already played.
  3. Guests see the updated status on the event page.

Guest view of status: 🎢 How guests request songs.

Moderation during a show

Keep DJ Admin β†’ Requests open. Use Status to show All, Pending, Approved, Spun, or Rejected, and Event to focus on one gig. View switches between Cards (handy on a phone β€” you can choose how many cards per page), Single column, and Two columns. Use Live View for a focused layout on a laptop or iPad. Refresh if the list looks stale β€” it turns green when new requests are waiting. Approve and reject work on Free and Pro while the event is live.

Start & pause requests (Pro)

On Pro, events still follow your start and end times by default. Use Start accepting / Pause requests / Resume on the event page (DJ Admin β†’ Events), or next to Refresh on the Booth when one event is selected (including Full screen). Opening early lets guests request before start; pause stops new requests mid-set without archiving. Free stays schedule-only. Guests see a paused message while you have requests paused.

Already played

On Pro, use Already played from the Booth when a guest asks for a track you already spun. Guests see Already Played with a purple highlight. In the Booth it is stored as Spun (filters and the Spun count pill). It still counts toward approval analytics, but it does not change response-time stats. On Free, that action opens an upgrade prompt. Try it on the Demo Booth.

Song BPM & key

On Pro, the Booth can show BPM plus either musical key or a Camelot code when we have that data. See 🎡 Song BPM & key on the Booth for Key vs Camelot settings and Free vs Pro.

Request Board

On Pro, Request Board is a guest-facing display for one event. Copy the link from DJ Admin β†’ Events (or the event page) and open it fullscreen on a TV. Guests see pending requests and a QR to request. If the event is password-protected, enter that password to open the board; it then shows under the QR. Live View on the Booth stays yours to moderate; Request Board is for the room. Free accounts see a preview and upgrade path. Full setup: πŸ“Ί Request Board.

After an event ends

Pending requests stay in DJ Admin β†’ Requests. On Pro you can still approve, reject, or mark Already played (you confirm first). On Free, those post-event actions show an upgrade prompt.

πŸ’° Tip Jar

Tip Jar is on Free and Pro. When enabled, guests see Venmo and/or Cash App links after every X requests (you set the threshold). Full guide: πŸ’° Tip Jar.

Request cooldown

Cooldown limits how often the same guest can submit at your events. See ⏱️ Request cooldown for presets and where to set it in DJ Admin β†’ Workspace β†’ Audience β†’ Request Cooldown.
