π Create your first event
How creating an event works in PlayThis.Live. Name the gig, pick duration and privacy, then save it so you can share a request link.
What is PlayThis.Live?
PlayThis.Live is an audience-request tool for DJs. You sign up, create an event in DJ Admin, and share a public request link (on a flyer, social post, or QR). Guests open that link in a browser β they do not install an app or create an attendee account. During the set, keep the Booth open on a laptop or iPad to approve or reject requests as they come in.
Create the event
Go to DJ Admin β Events β Create Event. Add a name guests will see, the date, and whether the event is public or password-protected. Free events can last up to 24 hours; Pro can run a single event for up to 30 days (Quick duration includes a Days control on Pro). Save the event, then open it to copy the public request link.
Public vs. private profile and events
You can be a public DJ (listed on /events, no profile password) or a private DJ (not listed; you set a profile password and share it). Each event can also be public (no event password) or private (event password required). Private DJ + private event means guests enter two passwords: profile, then event.
Set your profile in DJ Admin β Profile. Set a per-event password in that eventβs settings. Full combinations are in Event privacy.
Customize requests
In event settings you can password-protect the gig. Across all events, Request Cooldown under DJ Admin β Workspace β Audience limits how often the same guest can submit. Tip Jar (Free and Pro) can appear after a number of requests you choose and links guests to Venmo or Cash App.
Share the public page
Open the event in DJ Admin β Events and choose View public page to copy the link. For a styled QR, use DJ Admin β QR Code. The next guide walks through sharing in more detail. π± Share your event link.
Devices and browsers
DJs: modern desktop browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge) and iPad work best for DJ Admin. Guests: any modern phone browser. No PlayThis.Live app is required for attendees.
