🎢 How guests request songs

How guests submit a track on your event page. They use a phone browser β€” no PlayThis.Live install and no attendee account.

Submit a request

  1. Open the event link or scan the QR the DJ shared.
  2. If the event (or private DJ profile) is password-protected, enter the password the DJ gave you.
  3. Search for a song and pick it from the results.
  4. Submit the request. It shows as Pending until the DJ reviews it.

Request status

The event page groups requests as Pending, Approved, and Rejected. Status updates as the DJ works the Booth β€” refresh if you want the latest. On Pro, a song the DJ marks Already played shows a Played badge (still listed with Approved).

What else guests might see

  • Tip Jar. If the DJ enabled Tip Jar, a prompt can appear after a set number of requests and links to Venmo or Cash App. PlayThis.Live does not charge the guest’s card.
  • Request cooldown. If cooldown is on, the same guest waits before sending another request. The event page shows a countdown.
  • Pre-event window (Pro). Before start, the DJ may allow catalog-only picks, any-song requests, or keep requests closed until the event begins.
